Under the theme Innovate, Inspire and Explore, which promises a truly African Fashion International (AFI) African exhibition, and as a way of sharing the African culture with the world, local models and designers showcased their fashion determination in front of an international audience this past week at Cresta Mowana, Kasane. African designers enriched the inaugural Forbes under 30 Summit with their latest collections. The Fashion Experience, as well as the Summit, was aimed to leverage the biodiversity and natural appeal of Kasane to alter guests’ mindsets toward conscious capitalism and sustainable production. Headlining the showcase in Botswana was AFI’s showstopper David Tlale, who joined the runway after completing the Fashion Lab where he mentored three emerging designers. The fashion show was graced by the likes of Kaone Kario, Palesa Molefe, Emma Wareus, Emmanuel Kayenda, Thato Muyoba, Thabo Rebagamang, Basetsana Phillip, Rosemary Kailane, Juice Tsile, Oweditse Phirinyane, Thanolo Keutlwile, Magatalena Gaboadingwe, Dolly Masilomangwe and Gaone Mooketse.
