Media personality, Matlhare Matlhare was chosen among other journalists by the Namibia
Tourism Board to participate in a Visiting Journalist Programme of November 2022.
Matlhare is expected to explore and learn more about Namibia tourism, something he is expected
to bring here and subsequently global journalists will come to this country as it is an exchange
programme. There are other journalists in this programme who come as far as United Arab
Emirates.
According to the Namibian Tourism Board: “Part of this programme includes press trips where
the NTB invites new media and journalists from various source markets to raise awareness about
Namibia and spread latest information about the destination Namibia to these markets.”
The media influencers or journalists will be on a fully sponsored programme to Namibia for 7
days. Matlhare takes this invitation also as being one of members of Botswana Youth in Tourism
Organisation.
“The Namibian Tourism Board has recently expressed to work with our organization in the
similar tourism exchange. We will soon see influencers descending on Botswana to showcase
our tourism to the world in next engagements,” said Matlhare.
When in Namibia, Matlhare is expected to; create awareness by promoting the destination
through media (social and traditional media). This will showcase Namibia tourism which is also
targeting potential visitors from as far as United Arab Emirates. Matlhare will be visiting most of
Namibia tourist attraction points and use the social media to showcase them.
