This was the most prominent and in-depth Botswana-led investment promotion activity during the expo, aimed at deepening economic collaboration between Botswana and China and fast-tracking the implementation of high-quality cooperation projects. It also sought to attract high-quality, high-level, and high-tech Chinese enterprises to invest in Botswana, contributing to job creation and the country’s overall economic development.
In his welcome remarks, Mr. Nwako Neo Shea Patrick, President of BB, emphasized that Botswana has consistently been ranked among Africa’s best investment destinations due to its political stability, abundant natural resources, and strong legal framework. He encouraged more Chinese enterprises to participate in Botswana’s industrialisation and market development, particularly through active engagement in the country’s Special Economic Zones and other priority projects.
A comprehensive investment presentation was delivered by the BITC delegation, showcasing Botswana’s national development strategies, the country’s “One-Stop Investment Services” model, benefits under various free trade agreements, and attractive tax incentives. As Botswana’s official investment promotion agency, BITC is working closely with BB CHINA to provide end-to-end support for Chinese investors, aiming to lower entry barriers and enhance efficiency in project implementation
